Oats ven pongal/mudha pongal /Rolled Oats Porridge




Boil 1 1/2 tea cups of water in a saucepan, add 1/4 cup of rolled oats, add almonds and walnuts, freshly powdered pepper and cumin seeds half a tsp each, a pinch of  hing(asafoetida) and salt to taste. Cook for about 4-5 mts. 

Variations:
Any chutney will go as sidedish.
You can add sambhar a ladle without adding salt while cooking makes Sambhar Oats like Sambhar rice. This with papad is an excellent combinations. Ideal for dieters.
Adding curd makes it Curd Oats like Curd rice. This is with pickle gives a lip smacking taste.
